(UPDATE) Former senator JV Ejercito said Friday he would run to reclaim his position in 2022, three years after he and his brother, ex-senator Jinggoy Estrada both lost.

The son of former president Joseph Estrada said he would push for universal health care among other advocacies. During his three-year hiatus from public office, Ejercito forayed into biking and vlogging.

"I really want to pick up where I left off," he said during a live Facebook event.

"Ang aking malinis na pangalan at ang aking track record ang  aking magiging pambato sa halalan," Ejercito said.

Earlier, the brothers agreed that only one of them should run for senator.

"I have to be honest, doon po sa issue na baka maging dalawa kami [na tatakbo sa Senado] ay 'di ko na alam, wala talagang desisyon na isa na lang sa amin ang tatakbo."
