ABS-CBN anchor Karen Davila's response to Sen. Imee Marcos was cut in some videos of their interview that immediately went viral last Wednesday.
"Hoping always for the best for the country," Davila told president-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s sister, who told the anchor, "Akala ko magma-migrate ka pag nanalo ang Marcos?"
When Davila said she was "hoping always for the best", Marcos replied: "Thank you very much. We need that, UniTeam." The senator punctuated her reply with a cleched fist and the interview proceeded.
Davila retweeted a longer video of the exchange, as posted by Fact Check PH and PressOne news website's Rommel Lopez. The exchange is also available on ABS-CBN News Facebook, at around the six-minute mark.
Davila posted on Facebook about the interview last Wednesday, "Let me set the record straight on this one. Sen Imee Marcos on #ANCHeadstart joked about me still being in the PH after her brother’s victory to which I replied… 'ALWAYS HOPING FOR THE BEST FOR THE COUNTRY', Yan po ang sagot ko."
"Napikon po ba ako? Hindi po. Sen Imee Marcos also sent me an apology by text after the show. All good. Salamat!" she said.
