Leni-Kiko Tandem Tops Google Trends a Week Before May 9

The tandem of Vice President Leni Robredo and Sen. Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan are the most searched candidates for the two highest positions in the country a week before the May 9 elections based on Google Trends data Monday.

Robredo had a majority share of Google searches at 55% based on data from the previous week while her running mate Pangilinan had a 46% share of searches.

The UniTeam tandem of presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and vice presidential candidate Sara Duterte-Carpio is second when it comes to Google searches with 24% and 39% shares, respectively.

Robredo, who has been holding mammoth campaign rallies in different parts of the Philippines, is the second pick for president based on the latest Pulse Asia survey behind Marcos Jr,  the only son and namesake of the late dictator.

Pangilinan meanwhile is the third pick for the vice presidency based on the March Pulse Asia survey, behind Senate President Vicente Sotto III and frontrunner Duterte-Carpio.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, who has been calling for Robredo's withdrawal from the May 9 elections, is the third most-searched presidential candidate with a 10% share of Google searches followed closely by Sen. Manny Pacquiao at 8% and Sen. Panfilo Lacson at 3%.

The Philippines is set to hold its elections on May 9 that will decide the fate of some 109 million Filipinos for the next six years.
