Vice President Leni Robredo is moving to make the official canvassing of votes for president and vice president faster, her lawyer told lawmakers in charge of the count on Tuesday.

Robredo offers "no objection" to all certificates of canvass, which will form the basis of the count, lawyer Romulo Macalintal said.

The vice president also waived her representatives' appearance in the canvassing, Macalintal said.

In making his manifestation, Macalintal echoed Robredo's statement to her supporters that "we need to accept the decision of the majority.”

Vic Rodriguez, who is representing presumptive president Bongbong Marcos in the canvassing of votes, welcomed the move of the vice president's team.

"We like to recognize and thank the patriotism exhibited by Vice President Leni Robredo for expressly recognizing the integrity and the result of recently-concluded elections," he said.

Marcos is poised to be proclaimed winner of the presidential race garnering over 31 million votes in partial and unofficial count in the Comelec's transparency server, as against his closest rival Robredo with over 14 million votes.
