Maginhawa Community Pantry is Now a Drop Off Point for Donations
Starting Tuesday, the Maginhawa community pantry in Quezon City will serve as a drop-off point for donations that will be delivered to different barangays in Diliman to make the distribution of goods faster.
The pantry, located at 108 Maginhawa Street will accept donations every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. according to an announcement on its Facebook page.
"Sa decentralized pantry system magiging organized at efficient ang distribusyon sa tulong ng Barangay at existing Community Pantries," the advisory read.

Donated goods will be delivered to different barangays in Diliman, Quezon City so that recipients--particularly the elderly--no longer need to walk far, the advisory added
"Mas malapit na din sa mga recipients ang mga goods kaya't di na sila mahihirapan maglakad. Makakatulong ito lalo na sa mga seniors, buntis at may mga kapansanan. Mao-observe din ang health protocols dahil hindi na dudumugin ang isang pantry," it said.
Initiated by Patricia Non, the Maginhawa community pantry has served as an inspiration for many others in the country during the pandemic.
The concept -- give what you can and take what you need -- quickly became viral, with many versions of the Maginhawa pantry popping up across the country. The pantries were reminiscent of the centuries-old bayanihan or community spirit.
