Megaworld Says BIR 'Closure Order' is 'Clarified and Resolved'

Megaworld Corp said Tuesday it "clarified and resolved" a reported "closure order" with the Bureau of Internal Revenue that was circulated on Twitter.

The property developer led by billionaire Andrew Tan said it sought clarification from authorities after the BIR asked the media to cover the "issuance of closure order against Megaworld Corporation" on Wednesday.

"We have reached out to the concerned BIR regional office and the matter has been clarified and resolved," Megaworld said in a statement.

"Megaworld continues to fully support government's revenue programs," it added.
