Swifties, Meralco Knows 'All Too Well': Don't Dance in the Refrigerator Light

It's gonna reflect in your electricity bill.

Meralco on Monday advised fans of pop star Taylor Swift, collectively called "Swifties", against leaving their refrigerator door open and dancing to its light as it could hurt their electricity bill.

In reference to the much-anticipated All Too Well music video, which depicts actors Dylan O'Brien and Sadie Sink dancing in the refrigerator light as the lyrics described, the power distributor reminded fans to save energy, especially with rates expected to increase.

"Fellow Swifties, while it’s romantic to dance around the kitchen, if you leave your refrigerator door open and dance to its light, it would cost P9.79/day*," Meralco said on Facebook, adding fans could instead dance to Christmas tree lights, which cost less.

Meralco's power tip is proof of how Swift's release of her re-recorded "Red" album got Filipinos listening all weekend to her songs about falling for the wrong person despite the red flags and ending that relationship that was trouble as soon as it walked in.
