Meralco on Wednesday said customers can appeal for more time to settle their unpaid bills as it resumed disconnections following the shift of Metro Manila and surrounding areas to general community quarantine, or GCQ, with heightened restrictions.
"Kung hirap makabayad nang buo, kausapin lang po kami para makagawa tayo ng mas magaan na plano at para iwasan ang standard disconnection procedures. Magiging mapagmalasakit kami sa ating sitwasyon ngayon," Meralco said in a Facebook advisory.
The country's largest power distributor waived disconnections since last year as consumers struggled to recover from the pandemic's financial tolls. Payments in installments were accepted as relief to customers.
