Meralco said Thursday it was extending further its "no disconnection" policy until May 14 after the government stretched the modified enhanced community quarantine or MECQ in the Greater Manila Area.
All disconnection activities are suspended until May 14, 2021 -- the last day of the MECQ in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite, and Rizal, the power distributor said.
“We hope this additional extension will help ease the burden of our customers, while providing the necessary relief and additional time for them to settle their bills," Meralco FVP and chief commercial officer Ferdinand Geluz said.
MORE ON MECQ:
Meralco said its business centers would remain open to accept payments, applications, and customer assistance. Business hours will be from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on skeleton workforce from Monday to Friday and 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays.
Customers are encouraged to send Meralco a message via Facebook or Twitter regarding electricity concerns or call its 16211 hotline.
