The Philippine Statistics Authority on Monday warned national ID applicants of fixers and scammers soliciting assistance and delivery fees, reiterating that the entire registration process is free.

The PhilSys aims to serve as a centralized super ID system for Filipinos and is free of charge. The public may register online and schedule an appointment without having to pay anything. Shipping of the physical ID card via PHLPost is also free, the PSA said.

"Muli, LIBRE po ang pagpaparehistro sa PhilSys, WALANG ASSISTANCE FEE, at WALANG DELIVERY FEE para sa PhilID," the PSA said in an advisory.

Registration is only accepted via the official website. Applicants were encouraged to fill out the online form themselves to avoid being scammed.
