Philippines Records 9,055 More COVID-19 Infections, Zero Deaths

The Philippines on Tuesday tallied 9,055 new COVID-19 cases as system errors delay upload of daily case bulletins, the Department of Health said.

Active cases now stand at 103,077. There were 12,134 new recoveries and 0 deaths reported due to issues with COVIDKaya.

Total cumulative cases since the pandemic began is now at 2,613,070, of which 2,471,165 have recovered and 38,828 died.

Alert Level 4 with eased restrictions is expected to last until Oct. 15. Eased restrictions allow more movement for fully vaccinated individuals. Granular lockdowns will still be implemented in barangays or streets with a high number of COVID infections.

Public and private cemeteries in Manila City will be closed during Undas to prevent crowding.

Vaccinations for those aged 12 to 17 is eyed to start on Oct. 15. Minors with comorbidities will be prioritezed, the DOH said. Check if your city has opened vaccine pre-registration for minors.
