LOOK: One-Meter Social Distance Is Back on the MRT-3

Fewer passengers, wider distance.

The MRT-3 on Monday reverted back to one-meter social distance between passengers on after President Rodrigo Duterte agreed maintain the standard on public transport.

This came after frontliners warned the public of the risks of having only 0.75 meters in between each passenger. Health professionals said it was too soon to relax social distancing protocols on all modes of public transport and encouraged commuters to follow health protocols against the virus.

Each carriage of the MRT-3 will carry 51 individuals, for a total of 153 passengers per train set.

Wearing of face masks plus face shields, frequent disinfection, and temperature scans are strictly implemented. Eating on the train and talking either in person or on the phone are prohibited.
