The Pantaleon-Estrella Bridge, which will shorten the trip between Mandaluyong and Makati, is set to be inaugurated on Thursday night, Public Works Sec. Mark Villar said.
The bridge will open on Thursday, 8 p.m. As for regular traffic and motorists, "Siguro by Friday, magagamit na po ang bridge 100%," Villar said.
From Barangka on the Mandaluyong side, motorists can turn right to go to the bridge. Estrella currently has two lanes, but Villar said DPWH planned to expand it to four lanes along with Barangka.
Construction on the pedestrian stairs for the sidewalk is in the final stages. Lighting and lane markings are all set.
The four-lane bridge is part of the EDSA Decongestion Program and runs for 506.46 lineal meters to connect Estrella Street in Makati City and Barangka Drive on the Mandaluyong side. It is expected to serve 50,000 motorists daily, according to Villar.
