A passenger was hurt following a stone-throwing incident at an MRT-3 train car on Sunday morning.
The incident happened at the MRT-3 Taft Avenue Station at 6:51 a.m. causing severe damage to a train window and injuring a 51-year old male passenger, the MRT-3 management said in a statement.
The passenger was immediately given first aid at the Magallanes Station and was later brought to the San Juan De Dios Hospital in Pasay City for further medical care.
Photos shared by Transportation Sec. Arthur Tugade showed the extent of the damage to the train window, leaving shards of glass scattered on the floor.
Citing an initial report, the MRT-3 management said the scavenger who reportedly threw the stone at the train was apprehended in a construction site near a hotel along Taft Avenue.
While further investigation is ongoing, the MRT-3 management assured that legal charges would be filed against those involved in the incident.
"Necessary steps will also be taken to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future," it added.
