Miss Philippines Fuschia Anne Ravena won Miss International Queen 2022, securing the country's third crown in the pageant for trans women.

Ravena was crowned during Pride Month in Pattaya, Thailand with representatives from Colombia and France as first and second runners-up respectively.

"To be a transgender queen is to inspire other people and to do good things to everyone. Because I always think that the most beautiful asset of being a human and being a trans woman is not just a head full of knowledge. It should be the heart that is full of love and respect, an ear that is ready to listen and a hand that is willing to help other people," she said in the Top 5 interview round.

Kevin Balot first won the Miss International Queen crown for the Philippines in 2012. followed by Trixie Maristela in 2015.

Trans women in recent years have gained acceptance in decades-old pageants that were once exclusive to women who were born biologically female. In 2018, Spain's Angela Ponce became the first trans woman to compete at Miss Universe, the same edition won by the Philippines Catriona Gray.
