The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) said it launched its own contact-tracing app to better monitor the flow of people in transport hubs as quarantines continue easing.

The app called TRAZE is available for both iOS and Android devices. Up to five people can be combined in a single profile. It can also be used to monitor establishments and vehicles inside ports, said PPA General Manager Jay Daniel R. Santiago.

Passengers without compatible mobile devices or access to the app can register on site via the port Malasakit Helpdesk. Aside from a TRAZE identification number, a QR Code will also be provided for printing and scanning.

A registered individual will automatically receive a notification from the system when he or she encounters someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
