Encouraging people who might have COVID-19 to get tested is among the keys to fighting the pandemic. Quezon City, one of the most densely populated in Metro Manila, is promoting self-reporting through phone and social media hotlines.
Positive or probable COVID-19 cases can get in touch with the Quezon City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit or CESU and the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team or BHERT and provide the following information:
- Full name
- Birth date
- Exact address
- Contact number
- Work details
- Start of symptoms
- Pre-existing conditions
- Swab test details
- Positive/probable result document
Concerned parties can email firstname.lastname@example.org; message the official Facebook pages of CESU; or call hotline numbers 8703-2759, 8703-4398 (landline), 09161228628 (Globe), 09086398086 (Smart), and 09310957737 (Sun) for inquiries.
The city government reminded residents that self-reporting can be done through each barangay's respective hotline, which can be requested from the city epidemiology office.
It also assured the public that all information gathered from self-reporting will be kept private and will be used only for contact-tracing. Those who self-reported can continue home isolation and await further instructions.
