Vice presidential aspirant Sara Duterte-Carpio on Tuesday endorsed the senatorial bids of her father, President Rodrigo Duterte, and six other aspirants in the 2022 elections.

The Davao City mayor, who is running alongside Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. for president, asked her supporters at a gathering in Iloilo City to vote for six senatorial candidates whom she considers as friends.

"Wala pa pong senatorial slate ang UniTeam dahil hindi pa nag-aannounce si Bongbong Marcos. Pero meron akong mga kaibigan na mga senador na dala-dala ko na sila dahil kaibigan ko naman sila," she said.

While the younger Duterte didn't mention her father in her speech, Lakas-CMD, which she chairs, said President Duterte is "at the top of her list."

Duterte-Carpio also endorsed:

  • Former Palace spokesperson Harry Roque
  • Former Sen. Jinggoy Estrada
  • Former Public Works Sec. Mark Villar
  • Former Defense Sec. Gilbert "Gibo" Teodoro
  • Former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista
  • Former Sen. Loren Legarda

The President earlier endorsed his daughter and his long-time aide Sen. Bong Go before for vice president and president, respectively. The senator, however, formally withdrew his presidential bid on Tuesday.

With no official presidential candidate from the administration party, the President is free to endorse any other presidential aspirant to succeed him.
