Siargao is Open to Metro Manila Tourists Again, Here's Your Guide

Popular surfing hub Siargao is accepting tourists coming from Metro Manila which is under COVID-19 Alert Level 4 until the end of September with restrictions in place.

Parties, liquor, and videoke singing are prohibited according to Arcely Gallentes, municipal tourism officer of General Luna in Siargao Island. A 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew is also in effect.

"Wala na pong party ngayon dito dahil mahigpit pong ipinagbabawal ito," Gallentes told Teleradyo in an interview on Monday.

Children are allowed to travel with their parents to Siargao, Gallentes added.

She also reminded tourists visiting the island to follow COVID-19 protocols as some visitors were seen not wearing face masks.

Here are the requirements for those who are coming from Metro Manila and are planning to visit Siargao:

  • Negative RT-PCR test result
  • Valid ID
  • Confirmed booking in a Department of Tourism-accredited establishment
  • Flight details
