When the Skyway 3 Expressway opens in December, its builder, San Miguel, will offer it free to use for motorists for an entire month, the conglomerate controlled by businessman Ramon Ang said Tuesday.
Before the expressway was completed in October, ahead of schedule, the Buendia to Plaza Dilao section has been free to use for motorists, San Miguel said.
Skyway 3, among the government's centerpiece infrastructure projects, will connect the North and South Luzon Expressways with an estimated travel time of 20 minutes, San Miguel said.
“While we’re still doing a few finishing works, we want the public to be able to use Skyway 3 already and benefit from the convenience and ease of travel that it will bring. We have all waited long for this project, so this is the best way we can welcome everyone, by making Skyway 3 free for one month,” Ang said.
The project took six years -- the equivalent of a Philippine president's term -- to complete as San Miguel resolved right-of-way issues.
