Hotels can finally reopen as long as they are part of the Department of Tourism's "specialized programs," the country's pandemic response task force said in an official document released Friday, as the government continued to slowly reopen the economy.

The hotels must be in areas that are at least under GCQ, the second highest quarantine classification. Operations must be limited to "basic accomodation services" with an "in-house skeleton workforce," the Inter-Agency Task Force on COVID-19 said.

Existing guidelines will apply to so-called ancilliary services within the hotels such as restaurants, cafes, bars, gyms, spas -- which are also allowed, albiet at limited capacity in GCQ and MGCQ areas.
