The Palace retracted its statement and said tricycles, pedicabs, and vehicles with sidecars are still not allowed on national roads and highways.

“Regarding the issue on tricycles or those similarly situated, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año clarifies that although apprehension from the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) is temporarily suspended, such are still prohibited from traversing the national highways,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement.

In his June 4 online briefing, Roque said tricycles, pedicabs, and vehicles with sidecars would be allowed to pass on national highways in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) and modified GCQ.
