Metro Manila mayors agreed "in principle" to ban unvaccinated persons from leaving their residences for non-essential trips, including dining, under Alert Level 3, the MMDA said Monday.

It's ECQ for the unvaccinated to protect them against the coronavirus, MMDA chairman Benhur Abalos told reporters. It was not specified if partially-inoculated persons would also be banned from non-essential movements.

"'Yung mga walang bakuna o unvaccinated, number 1, they shall remain in their residences at all times except for the procurement of essential goods and services such as but not limited to food, water, medicine, medical devices, public utilities and energy, work and dental necessities," Abalos said.

Mayors also agreed to prohibit them from indoor, outdoor, and al fresco dining in restaurants and other food establishments, and leisure trip to malls, hotels, events venues, and sports and country clubs, he said.

Unvaccinated individuals will also be prohibited from domestic travel except when procuring essential goods and services, said Abalos.

Restrictions on the unvaccinated will be lifted once Alert Level 2 or lower is declared, he said.

"Inuulit ko, ito ay temporary lamang. Ito lamang ay habang nasa Alert Level 3 tayo o mas mataas para maproteksyunan din ang walang bakuna. Sana maunawaan po ng lahat ito."
