Mayor Vico Says Sorry After Mistaking 'V' Sign for 'Trapo' Moves

He mistook the "V" in the logo for his own initials.

Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto hates government projects bearing his likeness so much that seeing the letter "V" on the logo of their newly reorganized City Veterinarian's Office angered him.

(I thought it meant "Vet" and "Vico." People in the city hall know that I forbid such practice, especially if taxpayers are paying for it. The city veterinarian quickly explained to him that that is how the logo of veterinary medicine looks like.)

The mayor said he had to check on Google, and found out that even the Philippine Veterinary Medical Association and its foreign counterparts use the element. He had to apologize to the person he reprimanded.

(Still, I don't want our projects to be politicized — not only the City Vet but also the new brand of governance that we strive to achieve. Even if the basis is wrong, I ordered the revision of the logo. It even became cuter!)

The city government recently offered a free spay and neuter and anti-rabies vaccine program for stray dogs and cats. Vico is also set to inspect meats in the market to ensure the health and safety of Pasig residents.
