Fastfood restaurant Tropical Hut trended on Monday morning as netizens waxed nostalgic on its "sarap na babalik-balikan" burgers, clubhouse sandwiches, and the childhood memories that come with it.

"Tropical Hut" was tweeted more than 1,000 times after a netizen shared his dine-in experience at the Escolta branch on Sunday. "They have so much in their menu. And sana in five, ten, twenty years, they will still be there," @dumidyeypee said.

Tropical Hut started serving its burgers in 1965 in a coffee shop inside a supermarket, beating Jollibee and McDonald's in offering fastfood in the Philippines. Now 57, the burger chain remains a fan favorite for its Rancho Ranchero and sili burgers, Filipino spaghetti, and quickfried beef, among others.

Unlike other fastfood restaurants, Tropical Hut has in its menu sandwiches, toasts and omelette for breakfast, fruit and macaroni salad as sides, and spring chicken for those looking for bigger servings.

Netizens call it "underrated" and more affordable than other fastfood chains.
