ABS-CBN said Friday it was closing down its retail and studio tours business by Aug. 31, counciding with job cuts, as it grappled with the fallout of its broadcast shutdown. Those matching Christmas shirts? There will be none starting this year.
Among the ventures that will cease operations permanently are the Studio Tours, ABS-CBN Studio Experience, and ABS-CBN Store. Since 1997, the in-demand Studio Tours have served as the backstage pass of fans both here and abroad.
The ABS-CBN Store made program, celebrity and network merchandise, including the best-selling Christmas station ID shirts. Aside from its flagship store at the network's Quezon City headquarters, the items are also sold in shopping mall booths. The 2019 edition of the shirts, which turned out to be the last, had the theme "Family is Forever."
