Addition Hills in Mandaluyong City will be placed under "hard lockdown" for one week, May 7 to 14.
On Facebook, Carlito Cernal, Addition Hills barangay captain, said the hard lockdown was necessary because of the increasing number of positive COVID-19 cases. This was confirmed by Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos who met with local officials from the barangay and the city's health departments before making the decision. (An executive order is expected to follow soon with further guidelines.)
Mandaluyong has recorded a total of 418 confirmed cases. According to CNN Philippines, Barangay Addition Hills has the most number of COVID-19 cases in the city with 57 confirmed cases.
She added that the city will conduct random rapid testing on 3,000 residents of the barangay during the lockdown.
Cernal added in his post that relief goods will be sent to residents by Wednesday.
