Addition Hills In Mandaluyong Will Be Placed Under Hard Lockdown for a Week

The hard lockdown will take into effect starting May 7 until May 14.

Addition Hills in Mandaluyong City will be placed under "hard lockdown" for one week, May 7 to 14.

On Facebook, Carlito Cernal, Addition Hills barangay captain, said the hard lockdown was necessary because of the increasing number of positive COVID-19 cases. This was confirmed by Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos who met with local officials from the barangay and the city's health departments before making the decision. (An executive order is expected to follow soon with further guidelines.)  

Mandaluyong has recorded a total of 418 confirmed cases. According to CNN Philippines, Barangay Addition Hills has the most number of COVID-19 cases in the city with 57 confirmed cases.

Mayor Abalos said, "Ang Barangay Addition Hills po ang may pinakamataas na bilang ng CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASES na barangay sa Mandaluyong at sa buong Pilipinas."

She added that the city will conduct random rapid testing on 3,000 residents of the barangay during the lockdown.

Cernal added in his post that relief goods will be sent to residents by Wednesday. "Ang lahat ng relief para sa 3rd wave ay tatapusin hanggang Miyekules. Ang Social Amelioration Program ay sa Miyerkules din tatapusin ang Pay Out sa First wave. Para po sa mga nagtatanong ng interview sa mga hindi pa na interview ng DSWD. Antabayanan po natin ang second wave na kanilang gagawin subalit sa ngayon ay pansamantalang ititigil muna dahil sa ating Hard Lockdown na ipatutupad!"
