Actress Angel Locsin on Saturday said she was "rooting" for presumptive president Bongbong Marcos and vice president Sara Duterte-Carpio for the sake of the country, hoping to "be proven wrong" as she called on her fellow Kakampinks to respect the decision of the majority.
In an Instagram post, Locsin thanked Vice President Leni Robredo for showing grace in defeat during her thanksgiving event at the Ateneo De Manila University last Friday, which the actress attended with her husband, Neil Arce.

"Magkaiba man tayo ng stand, we should honor democracy and listen to the majority bilang ka-isang bansa," Locsin said.
"For our country’s sake, I’m rooting for our presumptive president, vice president, and senators. I’m hoping they’ll do better than our past leaders. I am a Filipino citizen hoping to be proven wrong. Masasabi ko hong ikakasaya ko ho kung mali kami at tama kayo," she added.
Lcsin actively campaigned for Robredo in the May 9 elections, attending many of her campaign sorties and even joined house-to-house campaigns.
Even as Robredo failed in her presidential bid, Locsin urged the vice president's supporters to uphold their slogan "radikal na pagmamahal."
"Despite everything, saludo sa lahat ng tumindig. Hindi ko makakalimutan ang pagmamahal sa bayan na pinakita ninyo," she said.
"Huwag hayaang mabalutan ng dilim ang liwanag na nasa puso ninyo. Ngayon, higit pa man, mas kailangan kayo ng bayan. Buksan ang inyong mga mata at puso para sa bayan," she added.
Robredo told her supporters during her thanksgiving event to join her in fighting lies and disinformation as she steps down from her office next month.
She also invited them to transform their pink movement into a non-governmental organization called "Angat Buhay", which she said will be the Philippines' largest volunteer network to uplift the poor.
