Move over Facebook. When it comes to changing names, Angkas is on top of the game.
The Filipino ride-hailing app which has expanded into padala and pabili services due to lockdowns joined the name-changing craze by calling itself "kandong" as Facebook rebranded its parent company into "Meta."
For those who aren't familiar what kandong is, it means to be held in one's lap.
And like anyone undergoing a change, Angkas tweeted in jest: "new name, new me hahahahaha charot."
Despite the several challenges to its operations over the past year, Angkas or should we say Kandong, has managed to keep it light online with puns and its usual funny antics.
Angkas however isn't the only one "rebranding" itself.
International fast-food chain Wendy's also joined in the fun and changed its Twitter name to "Meat" in response to Meta.
The name change was apparently a welcome one with Meta's new Twitter account replying: "Nice to meat you."
Seems like nothing hurts with a little name change right?
