Apple on Wednesday launched new products, including a 5G iPhone SE and green color options for the iPhone 13 series, hoping to lure fans into buying new gadgets outside of the peak holiday shopping season.

It's classic Apple -- same hardware, but with new internals or a fresh coat of paint. In the case of the iPhone SE, what's basically the same design as 2014's iPhone 6, now gets 5G connectivity and the A15 chip that powers the latest iPhone 13 series.

It's a "design that's made to last", down to the home button. At $429 (P22,458) before taxes, it's the least expensive iPhone model with 5G and with the latest processor. Who's it for? People who are deep into the iOS ecosystem and don't want to blow their budgets on an iPhone 13 for a main or secondary handset.

Apple also unveiled green options for its newest iPhones -- Alpine Green for the iPhone 13 Pro and simply green for the iPhone 13. If your Sierra Blue iPhone 13 Pro looks like the sky, the Alpine Green looks like pine trees that touch the horizon. Who's it for? People who flaunt their phones like jewelry for gym mirror and dressing room selfies.

The iPad Air also got an upgrade with 5G connectivity and finally, an M1 chip. This means that in theory, the iPad Air can perform as fast as the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro 13-inch from late 2020 and the iPad Pro line from mid-2021. Take note however that it still runs iPad OS, which limits how far it can go as far as mimicking the desktop PC experience. Who's it for? People who use a tablet for off-site work, but have a desktop or laptop at home.

Apple also refreshed its Studio Display -- a 27-inch monster aimed at creators with a 5K display, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera for video calls and six peakers. It also unveiled the Mac Studio, a CPU that runs on the M1 Max and M1 Ultra chips that power the 14-inch and 16-inch Macbook Pros.
