Quezon City residents can get vaccianted at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao which has been converted into a mega vaccination site, the local government said Friday.
The Araneta Group allowed the use of the site for free in line with the local government's efforts to vaccinate priority groups. Inoculation will run from May 15 to 21.
“We estimate that the Big Dome will be capable of delivering 1,000 to 1,500 COVID shots per day,” said Mayor Joy Belmonte.
Proper filters and fan systems are in place for adequate ventilation to ensure the safety of volunteers and the public.
The Araneta Group will also provide their own medical personnel to help administer vaccines, Business Permits and Licensing Department Head Margie Santos said.
The non-profit Tzu Chi Medical Foundation Philippines will also send medical professionals to QC vaccination sites, she said.
“We are very pleased to accommodate the QC LGU’s vaccination campaign inside the Smart Araneta Coliseum. This is our contribution to the government’s efforts to control the surge of COVID-19 cases in the city and to improve public health,” according to Antonio T. Mardo, SVP for Operations of the Araneta Group.
