The Ateneo De Manila University on Monday released the results of its admissions process for incoming freshmen after its annual college admission test was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ateneo authorities said the results were emailed to all applicants, with a link to searchable results to be posted soon.
"Since the campus is still closed, we’re finding ways to welcome incoming first year students to your new home, and will have open houses and other events in the coming weeks," the university said.
Ateneo scrapped the college admission test or ACET for incoming first year students due to health and safety concerns brought about by the pandemic.
In lieu of an examination, ADMU came up with these criteria to assess each application:
- Academic performance in Grades 9 to 11
- Academic rank at the end of Grade 11
- Recommendations from a class teacher/moderator and a guidance counselor
- Personal essay
- Extra-curricular activities
- Disciplinary record
Ateneo de Manila is one of the leading universities in the country and consistently ranks among the best higher educational institutions not only in the Philippines but also in the world.
It recently ranked in the 201-300 bracket in the 2021 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, which measures sustainability efforts of universities worldwide, garnering the highest rank for any Philippine university this year.
