Some 4,500 passengers are stranded at ports as Tropical Depression Auring (Dujuan) stirs rough waters, the Philippine Coast Guard said Monday.
As of 4 a.m., 78 vessels, 9 motorbancas, and 1,878 rolling cargoes in Northern Mindanao, North Eastern Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Bicol, and Southern Tagalog regions also remain stranded, the coast guard said.
As a precaution, 142 vessels and 96 motorbancas are taking shelter in ports, it said.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, some 50,000 people in Caraga were evacuated over the weekend. Rescue operations persist in Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Sur.

Weather bureau PAGASA on Monday said moderate to heavy rains will be experienced over the Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Samar, Eastern Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Marinduque, Romblon, and Quezon. Light to moderate with at times heavy rains over Aurora and the rest of Visayas, MIMAROPA, and CALABARZON.
CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Metro Manila, Camarines Norte, Bulacan, Aurora, Isabela, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, and Batanes may experience light to moderate with at times heavy rains come Tuesday, PAGASA added.
