Headed for Baguio? Here Are the Updated Tourism Guidelines Under GCQ

Baguio City updated their guidelines for tourism-related industries while the area is under general community quarantine, its public information office said Wednesday, weeks after a viral party in a city that saw several quarantine violations.

Executive Order 10-A series of 2021 states that the maximum operational capacity for leisure, recreation, and tourism activities for the City of Pines until Feb. 28 will be at 75%, but may be reduced to accommodate appropriate ventilation specifications, minimum public health standards and physical distancing.

The EO takes effect immediately and remains effective until the end date, unless the GCQ status of the city is modified by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases.

Park concessionaires, libraries, museums, art and cultural centers, galleries, cinemas, theaters, non-sports recreational center, tourist attractions and the like must follow the new guidelines.

Dine-in services for food and beverage establishments is capped at 75% maximum seating capacity. Hotels and other check-in accommodations can operate on a 50% limited capacity.

Eateries, gyms, eateries, salons, and personal care facilities are allowed up to 75% operating capacity.

Meanwhile, events, functions, social gatherings and allowed similar activities are capped at only 30% capacity.

Regardless of allowed limited capacity, all staff, guests, and clients must adhere to minimum health protocols, such as wearing of face masks, face shields, and observing physical distancing.

Tourists are still required to present a QR tourist pass which is granted after online registration at Baguio City's tourist information website.
