The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas on Wednesday warned the public against online sellers who are hawking supposedly "brilliant, uncirculated" P20 coins.

The P20 coin issued in December 2019 is legal tender and there are 2.09 million pieces worth P41.9 million in circulation, the BSP said. However, it has not issued what online sellers claim to have -- "brilliant and uncirculated" coins.

"These 20-Piso NGC coins are legal tender and may be used as payment for goods and services at face value," the BSP said.

In short, the P20 coin in your pocket is real money, just don't buy it online, says the Bangko Sentral.
