BDO Trends on Twitter, Digital Channels Down on Payday

What happens when digital channels of the Philippines' largest bank, BDO are inaccessible on a payday and during a pandemic at that? It becomes a trending topic on Twitter.

Irate users used the hashtag #bdoonlinebanking to vent on how they could not move their money on the website and on the app on payday, Sept. 30. The payday woes followed an issue on BDO's iPhone app after Apple devices are updated the newest operating system, iOS14.

"We apologize for the inaccessibility of our Digital Banking channels and the inconvenience it has caused, especially during this payday period," BDO said in an advisory.

"In the meantime, we encourage you to use the ATMs or visit our branches for your urgent transactions," BDO said. "All BDO branches are following safety measures and observing physical distancing. Please wear your face mask and face shield so we may serve you safely and efficiently."
