Boxer Carlo Paalam is Assured of Bronze, Team PH Medal Haul Now at 4

Flyweight boxer Carlo Paalam is assured of a bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics after beating his Uzbek rival on Tuesday, bringing the country's total haul to four.

Compatriot Nesthy Petecio will fight for the country's second gold medal at around noon while pole vaulter EJ Obiena will compete in the finals later in the day.

The country is also assured of at least a bronze via middleweight boxer Eumir Marcial, who is set to fight for at least a silver medal.

Last week weightlifted Hidilyn Diaz won gold, ending the country's 97-year wait for top honors in the summer games.
