COVID-19 protocols in Cagayan, Apayao, and Benguet will be tightened to modified enhanced community quarantine or MECQ starting Monday, the Inter-Agency Task Force on pandemic response said.
The MECQ in the said areas will last until May 23 based on a May 9 resolution.
The three areas were initially placed under the more relaxed general community quarantine or GCQ at the start of the month.
The government this week is set to decide too on whether to ease or extend the MECQ in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite, and Rizal, which is set to expire on Friday, May 14.
