Proof that hard work — especially when it comes to studies — pays off is the city government of Pasig giving incentives to its academic scholars who graduated with Latin honors.
Eleven graduates received their cash reward on Wednesday, according to Mayor Vico Sotto's Facebook page. Summa cum laudes got P30,000 each, magna cum laudes P25,000, and cum laudes P20,000.
Sotto encouraged the scholars to find ways to give back to the city and its taxpayers, who helped them get through college. "Whether it is through their time, volunteer work, or even helping other students when they become financially capable."
Those who have yet to claim their incentive can still send their requirements to the Scholarship Office, the mayor added.
