Cebu City Orders Removal of 'Run, Sara, Run' Tarps

The Cebu City gocernment has ordered the removal of posters urging Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio to run for president due to a lack of permit, a local official said.

Photos of the banners with the slogan "Run Sara Run" have gone viral. City Building Official Florante Catalan told Cebu Daily News that the postings were unauthorized.

Similar posters have been put up in other parts of the country.

Comelec commissioner Rowena Guanzon posted on Twitter in response to criticism of the posters: “Advertisements or posters of potential candidates are not violations because it is not election period. Will revisit the rules @COMELEC."
