Cebu Pacific's Piso Accident Insurance: What You Need to Know

The country's largest airline partnered with AXA Philippines.

Cebu Pacific on Thursday said it would continue its partnership with AXA Philippines to offer passengers microinsurance that covers accidents beyond travel as more Filipinos fly under the new normal.

The Piso Protect Personal Accident microinsurance covers accidents that may result to injuries, disabilities, or death. Insured passengers can get the following coverage:

  • Accidental death or permanent disablement coverage of up to P250,000
  • Daily hospitalization coverage of P1,000 per day for a maximum of P5,000
  • Surgical cash benefit of P5,000

There's no need to purchase a flight ticket to get Piso Protect. For For as low as P1 per day or P365 a year, the accident insurance can cover the cost of hospitalization due to accidents.

Piso Protect is available on the Cebu Pacific website, where customers will be redirected to AXA's site for complete purchase.

“We are happy to continue our partnership with CEB to offer affordable, high-value personal accident insurance that can help provide extra financial protection for all," said Nandy Villar, AXA Philippines' Chief Customer Officer.

In September 2020, the two companies offered non-travel insurance products in the form of CEB Health Protect, insurance that provides coverage for cancer, stroke, and heart attack.
