Cebu Pacific said it would cover the antigen tests of passengers bound for Hong Kong until Sept. 30 as Filipino workers start to return to the Chinese territory after local lockdowns.
For the safety of all passengers and staff, negative antigen test results are part of travel requirements and must be taken on the day of the flight, according to the airline. Antigen results will be released in 30 minutes.
This is on top of the negative RT-PCR test result Hong Kong requires at least 72 hours before scheduled departure.
Passengers who are unable to take the antigen test or yield a positive result will be prohibited from checking in.
The Hong Kong government in late August allowed the entry of fully-vaccinated Overseas Filipino Workers after initially denying entry. A yellow card and quarantine upon arrival are required.
