In line with the government's decision to put Metro Manila under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ), air travel continues to be limited.
Cebu Pacific, for one, has announced that all domestic and international flights under them, including Cebgo, are officially cancelled from May 16 to May 31.
Other airlines are expected to make similar announcements, but no other advisories have been published so far.
Although flights are still canceled, local airlines are already in the process of updating safety protocols for when air travel resumes. Philippine Airlines shared details of their "modified customer journey" via social media, which includes requiring all passengers to wear face masks and maintaining social distancing at boarding gates and onboard bus shuttles. Meanwhile, Cebu Pacific's efforts include contactless boarding and leaving middle seats in the plane vacant to maintain physical distance.
