Comedienne Mahal, who broke ground for little people in Philippine TV and film, died on Monday, her family said. She was 44.
The sister of Mahal (Noemi Tesorero in real life), Irene Tesorero, confirmed her passing on Facebook. Mahal's home network, GMA, shared the sister's Facebook post.
She was last seen on GMA's "Owe My Love".
In the late 1990s, Mahal starred in variety shows with another little person, Mura.
