Comelec to Open Voter Registration Sites in Ayala Malls

Register and exercise your right to vote.

The Commission on Elections said Monday it would set up satellite voter registration sites in select Ayala Malls nationwide to make sign ups more accessible ahead of the Sept. 30 deadline.

Officials from Comelec, Ayala Land, and Ayalaland Malls on Monday signed a memorandum of agreement for the establishment of voter registration sites in Ayala Malls which are set to open in early September.

"Having these malls open to vote registration is a timely initiative considering that we are already in the last phase of voter registration for the upcoming 2022 national and local elections," said Comelec chair Sheriff Abas.

"Umaasa kami sa Comelec na ngayong mas pinalawak ang ating voter registration ay gagamiting pagkakataon ito ng ating mga kababayan na hindi pa nagpaparehistro," he added.

The Comelec earlier opened voter registration sites in Robinsons Malls to get more people to register for the 2022 elections. Sign up hours in local Comelec offices have also been extended starting Monday until Sept. 30 deadline.

Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez last week said over 60 million Filipinos had registered to vote for the 2022 elections, exceeding the 59 million target.
