New UK health ministry figures showed that more than 31,000 who tested positive for the coronavirus have died in Britain, reports ABS-CBN News. The number of fatalities have reached 31,241.

The figures include everyone who tested positive for COVID-19 but according to the report, many more may have the virus listed on death certificates. Among the new deaths include a six week-old baby with an underlying health condition.

In a separate report by The Guardian, Secretary of State for Environment George Eustice said that there will be “no dramatic overnight change” in UK’s lockdown amid reports that they will be tentatively lifting some lockdown restrictions. The United Kingdom is one of the hardest-hit countries by the coronavirus in Europe.
