More Overseas Kababayans Just Tested Positive for COVID-19

This brings the total up to 2,845.

More Filipinos have tested postive for COVID-19 around the world.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported 24 more overseas Filipinos have tested positive for the coronavirus across four geographical regions globally.

The updated tally raises the number of total cases to 2,845, according to the Department of Health. It also recorded six new fatalities, bringing the total death toll to 340. 1,558 are being treated, and 947 have recovered as of writing.

In a statement, the Department of Foreign Affairs said: "The DFA personnel in our FSPs (foreign service posts) continue to actively monitor the status of the Filipino community abroad and work to safely repatriate more of our stranded nationals home."

Europe continues to have the highest number of coronavirus cases for overseas Filipinos. Early this week, the numbers were reached 801 cases. While the Middle East and Africa followed at 757 cases, the Americas at 633 cases, and Asia at 473 cases.
