DOH Reports 4,226 More COVID-19 Cases

This brings the total tally to more than 126,000.

The Department of Health (DOH) released their 147th COVID-19 Case Bulletin at 4 p.m. today, August 8. In it, they report 4,226 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19, which brings the total number of cases to 126,885.

In the bulletin, the DOH also reports 41 new deaths, bringing the total death count to 2,209, and 287 new recoveries, bringing the total recovery tally to 67,117.

Of the 4,226 reported cases, 2,964—that's 70.14%—happened within the last 14 days. Topping the list of regions or categories with cases in the last two weeks are NCR at 1,737 or 41.10%, followed by Region 4A with 464 or 10.98%, Repatriate with 145 or 3.43%, and and Region 7 with 116 or 2.74%.

Out of the 41 deaths, 23 or 56% were from NCR, 12 or 29% were from Region 7, 3 or 7% were from Region 6, 2 or 5% were from Region 4A, and 1 or 2% were from Region 2.
