Metro Manila will remain under COVID-19 Alert Level 1 until the end of the month, the Department of Health said Tuesday, as President Bongbong Marcos chose to retain the current system setting the pandemic restrictions to ensure public health and safety.

General Santos City and 18 other local government units are also de-escalated to Alert Level 1 for the period of July 16 to 31, the health department said.
