Vice President Leni Robredo acknowledged "Daks for Leni" onstage at a rally in Cebu City, drawing loud cheers from the crowd, which she said, represents the creativity of those supporting her uphill campaign for the presidency.
There's Alters for Leni, Di Bale Nang Walang Afam, Basta May Leni-Kiko sa Malacanang, Robredo said, pointing their banners. But it was "Daks for Leni-Kiko" that drew the most cheers onstage and online. Daks is street slang for a well-endowed man.
"Hindi n'yo ba napapansin? Dahil sa inyong passion, 'yung creativity ng lahat, lumalabas," said Robredo, who is harnessing her grassroots experience to upset survey frontrunner Bongbong Marcos.
Alters refer to the Twitter underground, where anonymous users are both hyper-opinionated and sexually-charged. In the alter world, Robredo supporters swap sometimes naughty jokes and puns that revolve around the campaign hue pink and body parts of the same color.
Robredo said she and her team always retire from the campaign trail happy with the amount of souvenirs they get, from food to handicrafts to stuffed toys. "Grabe 'yung saya na binibigay nyo sa ating lahat."
"Ang mga souvenirs po, ang creativity sobrang grabe. Nagpapakita lang na lahat tayo invested ngayon, 'wag nating sasayangin 'yung puso dahil ang puso ang magpapanalo sa atin sa eleksyon na 'to," she said.
